Saturday Family Movie Series

Philipse Manor Hall, Yonkers

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site invites the public to get out of the house and enjoy free films in the site’s Gothic Chamber. The Saturday Family Movie Series returns in 2017 with films being shown on the last Saturday of the month at 3 p.m.

On each of the dates, families are invited to enjoy a free movie at the site, courtesy of the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall. Families are encouraged to bring their own refreshments and a blanket if they prefer to watch the movie from the floor. All films are rated PG and are shown in the Gothic Chamber of Philipse Manor Hall, a structure dating from the 1680s, the oldest standing building in Westchester County. The site is located at 29 Warburton Ave., across from Van der Donck Park and the daylighted Saw Mill River, just blocks from the train station in downtown Yonkers and adjacent to the Yonkers Railroad bus stop.

The Secret Life of Pets

Attendees of the April movie will be presented with a list of 10 options, from classics to the most recent releases, and be able to vote for their two favorites. Voting is open to all who attend the movie and the winner will be announced at the end of “The Jungle Book.”

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site is located at 29 Warburton Avenue in Yonkers, N.Y. The site is one of six historic sites and 15 parks administered by New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation’s Taconic Region. The Manor Hall is regularly open for tours Tuesday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (5 p.m. from April to October).
