Family-to-Family’s Holocaust Survivor Sponsorship Program
from Pam Koner, founder Family-to-Family
“I’m reaching out to share that Family-to-Family has just launched a new effort to help elderly impoverished Holocaust survivors – Sponsor A Holocaust Survivor . Unknown to us until recently, there are over 100,000 survivors living in the U.S. and sadly, 1/3 of them are living in poverty – many in the NY area. After doing some research on the issue and determining that our one-to-one sponsorship model might be a perfect way to assist local survivors in need, we reached out to a number of agencies working with survivors. I’m thrilled to share we have partnered with The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (they have clients/survivors in all boroughs) to help survivors with a monthly $50. gift card for groceries. We’ve been told that the summer months are really hard on these seniors living on a fixed income – air conditioning costs are high and choices have to be made to eat or be cool.
Please consider helping by signing up HERE – to keep costs down you can share sponsorship of a survivor at $27.50 a month- we’ll find a co-sponsor. And…attached is a flyer we are asking you to share with friends/family or at your workplace.
It is unacceptable to me, that these seniors are suffering in any way – we have to do something. Please join me.” Learn more…
