Fall 2018 HVRW, which takes places from October 29-November 11, will include restaurants across 114 miles from seven counties: Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester. Twice a year, restaurants offer prix-fixe menus at a special price, showcasing Hudson Valley-grown, seasonal ingredients. “Since we began The Valley Table 20 years ago, our mission has always remained the same: we support sustainable agricultural practices and strengthen the relationship between producers, purveyors and consumers,” says Janet Crawshaw, founder of HVRW. “Hudson Valley Restaurant Week is a perfect extension of that mission and we are all so proud and look forward to its continued growth.”

HVRW features prix-fixe, three-course dinners and lunches priced at $32.95 and $22.95 respectively. During previous restaurant weeks, more than 200 participating restaurants served an estimated quarter of a million patrons. Restaurant participants report an average of 25% increase in business during the two week event, collectively generating an estimated economic impact of $10.2 million in sales revenue.

About Hudson Valley Restaurant Week:

In 1996, Janet Crawshaw and Jerry Novesky took an eight-month sabbatical, traveling 35,000 miles across the country seeking authentic American experiences. They found that local farms, bakeries, fish markets, wineries and breweries were the key to understanding the country’s distinct regions. Inspired by their trip and the Chefs Collaborative, an educational sustainable food movement, the couple returned to their home in the Hudson Valley with a mission to promote the region’s food culture. In 1998, they launched The Valley Table, a colorful quarterly magazine that celebrates the agricultural heritage and cuisine of the region, fueling the development of the Hudson Valley’s local food movement. Crawshaw and Novesky launched Hudson Valley Restaurant Week in 2006 with a distinguished board of advisors, including chefs, restaurateurs and tourism leaders. The two-week culinary event premiered with 70 restaurants. Today, with more than 200 participating restaurants spanning seven counties it is among the largest Restaurant Weeks in the country, involving farmers, growers, winemakers and chefs.  Participating counties include Columbia, Dutchess, Westchester, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Ulster.  To learn more about Hudson Valley Restaurant Week or to become a sponsor please visit: valleytable.com/hvrw.
